Anthony Kingdom James has always been a man with a few good stories to tell and he’s spent his adult life exploring different ways to tell them.  He’s been a stand-up comedian, talk radio host, night club DJ, pop culture blogger, voiceover artist and, perhaps most infamously, a professional wrestler.  From hosting live events in front of ten thousand-plus people to conducting one-on-one interviews with athletes, actors, musicians and politicians, Anthony’s done a little bit of everything to entertain the masses.

Anthony was born and raised in Toronto, Canada.  In his senior year of high school, he began performing on open mic nights at the famed Yuk Yuk’s comedy club.  After graduation, Anthony enrolled in Sheridan College’s acclaimed Animation programme but quickly found himself much more drawn to the campus radio station where he began working several shifts a week as a DJ and newscaster.

In 1995, he began wrestling professionally.  Anthony’s life as a pro wrestler lead him out of Canada to England, Spain and throughout the United States and onto television screens in over a dozen countries.  At one time or another, Anthony has wrestled alongside or against stars such as Edge, Christian, Rhino, Shark Boy, Robert Roode, The Honky Tonk Man, Ricky Morton, Rikishi and WWE Hall of Famers Sgt. Slaughter, Dominic DeNucci and Wild Samoan Afa.  He even began his own promotion, The Union of Independent Professional Wrestlers, which he is resurrecting with a series of new live events in and around Toronto starting in late 2010.

AnthonyKingdomJamesHaving worked as an on-air host at radio stations on both sides of the Canada-US border, it wasn’t a surprise when Anthony impressed judges and listeners enough to beat out the over 400 hopefuls to make it all the way to the finals of a 2004 Dream Job contest promoted by Toronto’s all-sports station, The Fan 590.  In 2008, he decided to cut out the middle man in the search for a hosting gig and created the Handsome Genius Club Radio Show, his weekly pop culture podcast.

Anthony is hunting down another dream: the publication of his first professional work as a comic book writer.  Anthony is currently prepping a number of properties to shop to various publishers early in the new year.  In addition, Anthony is currently the subject of a ongoing documentary film chronicling his numerous creative interests and following him as he prepares to host his next Wrestlers Union event.
